  1. While interviewing a person it is important to make sure the interviewee is comfortable. It is extremely important for the location of the interview to be familiar and calming for the person being interviewed. Everyone involved in the interview should be well aware of their task at hand. Finding an interesting place to shoot the interview is also very important. The interview setting should show evidence of the documentary. Evidence that goes along with the interview should be incorporated in the shoot. Another important factor that should involve in the interview process is asking the right questions. Avoid asking questions that only require a “yes” or “no” answer. The interviewer should also always listen to the interviewee completely and thoroughly.
    - What was your most memorable experience at AMSU?
    - How has the atmosphere of AMSU changed since you started here to its current atmosphere?
    - If you could change AMSU back to the way it was in the beginning of your time would you? Or would you keep in the way it is now?
    - How have the students of AMSU evolved?
    - Compare and contrast the AMSU girls of before to the AMSU girls now.
    - Are the AMSU traditions such as ring day, the same as they always been? Or have they changed?
    - If you could describe AMSU in one word, what would that word be?
    - What do you see in the future for The Academy of Mt. St. Ursula?
    - What do want the reputation of AMSU to be?
    - How has Ursula helped you to evolve as a person?

When filming the convent dcumentry it is importan that we go in there with a plan. Preparation is essential in doing he task. Location is also important. We should do the interview where the speaker is cmforable. This gives them a chance to open up more and perhaps give better insight on the nformation needed. The Shooting Options and Practice need to be considered in conducting an interview because it can make or break an interview.

  3. When interviewing someone it is a great help if you know exactly what the topic will be about in order to make conversation with your interviewee. Eye contact and interest in the topic is extremely vital for the interview to be seen as successful. Setting is also a great aspect that is important in creating a great interview. The place in which the interview is being held must have a great amount of significance to the topic at hand. It will better help watchers understand and physically see what the interviewer and interviewee are speaking about. When going in to this convent project we must all know the history and knowledge behind the convent and the start of The Academy of Mount Saint Ursula.

  4. When you are interviewing someone it would be very helpful to know what you're interviewing the person on. I believe interest would be the most important factor, but setting is also important. For us to be good at interviewing we must know what it is about and the history. For the Convent documentary, if we had no idea what we were talking about, it would make the documentary very boring.
-What was AMSU like when you first started?
    -how is it different?
-how do you feel the convent has helped with the education and lives of the girls?

  6. The most important aspect of shooting a documentary is to make sure your are prepared and not waisting footage or time. Also it is important for the documentary to show the story instead of having people who tell it. You must have questions that are appropriate to the topic and it is best to have someone who will not freeze as soon as the camera is put to their face therefore the interviewer must be comfortable in order for the person he or she is interviewing to be comfortable as well. Also while interviewing someone it is crucial to have the "handheld mike...close to provide good seperation between the speaker's voice and the background noise." Finally, as important as it is to have the right questions it is more important to listen to the person you're interviewing.

  7. The most important things I took from the text were to always be prepared and to know what you're going to be discussing well before you get to the interview. This allows you to be more concise in your questioning and enabled you to delve deeper into the subject, seeing as you are already well versed in the terminology and subject matter at hand.

  8. The pamphlet states that interviews would run smoothly if there is enough prior knowledge obtained before the interview has started. It’s also good to know what kind of questions you are going to ask the person before hand, rather than making them up on the spot. You should also make sure that the person you are interviewing feels comfortable, because you don’t want them to get distracted or feel uncomfortable. For my video, I would want to interview the person in a nice quiet room, because I wouldn’t want the person to feel pressured into giving false information. It’s also good to ask the person being interviewed if they have any questions. They would feel more welcomed, rather than just being used for obtaining information. It’s also very important to make sure you are listening to the feedback given, because this portrays whether or not you are listening and processing the information this person has given you.
