I don't think that the SOPA and PIPA bills are fair. These bills are taking unneccessary measures to take down a website. Certain websites that I may need for school can be eliminated due to these bills. Even websites such as Facebook and Tumblr will be eliminated due to the copyrighted content that is on it. These two bills are unfair and should not go through.
S.O.P.A is The Stop Online Piracy Act and P.I.P.A is The Protect IP Act. S.O.P.A is an anti-piracy bill. Anti-Piracy means preventing copyright infringement. This affects people's lives regards to education, business, and recreation because now every single thing can be censored. The stuff that were ok before will be censored now. In a way, S.O.P.A and P.I.P.A are invading our privacy because the things we put up may be taken off and censored. I believe they want to pass these bills because they want the internet to be a much safer environment for everyone but this can and will change everything.
I feel that the SOPA and FIFA acts are unnecessary. These online censorships are looking to ban and remove certain websites because they feel they are copyrighted. This can affect me because some of the websites that I use for school assignments will no longer be accessible and even some websites that I use leisurely will be affected. Certain websites being changed that can have a negative affect on me are Tumblr, Facebook, and even Google.
Honestly, I am 100% against the SOPA and PIPA acts. I hope they are not passed. I understand the government's standing on the issue regarding piracy and illegal downloads, etc, but at the same, they really need to be realistic; if they plan on passing this act and arresting people for copyright infringemnet, illegal downloads, etc, than they might as well arrest all of America. Also, the thought that these acts will deeply effect our socialnetworks and Google absolutely terrifies me. I know for a fact that many people, many Americans depend on Google for everyday jobs, homework, etc. The government is forgetting that our founding fathers helped build this country so that we, as AMericans, would have our rights, which were bestowed on us with the Bill of Rights. I do not know what will become of us if these bills are passed. If the government does this and takes away our rights, what else will they take away? Our right to be free?
I believe that SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) is both good and bad. This is because it protects the reproduction of any copyrighted or patented program, book etc. It is unfair because it limits the amount of places we can go to for information. For example, in order to diminish the act of copyrighting or plagiarizing, we must go to the source in order to seek the information we want. It also violates a person's internet privacy. The Protect IP Act,or PIPA, also limits our education and internet use. Both SOPA and PIPA reduce the amount of information we can be searching at our fintertips.
SOPA would affect each and every one of our lives if ever passed. Many of the sites we enjoy to go on would be monitored, and would cause us to miss out on the many things that we once enjoyed because of the internet. Though it wouldn't neccesarily take down any sites, it would still affect many websites. It would make things harder and everyone would have to find other ways to get the things they needed to do, done.
I believe that SOPA would dramatically change each and every one of our lives. We will no longer have google, facebook, twitter etc., Google is like my BFF I don't know what I would do without her! She answers all of my questions when no one else knows the answers to them. I don't really care for social networks but those who do will be extremely upset if SOPA is passed. Some would also have a lack of communication because these websites are key to communication from around the world.
I don’t think the SOPA and PIPA bills are fair. I believe the censoring of certain websites can take away from education, business, and recreation. Websites that may be necessary for school assignments can be censored making it harder for students to research things they need for their work. Business websites can also be censored, this can affect their profit. For example if a store’s website is blocked, it makes it harder for consumers to shop online. In terms of recreation, teen sites such as Facebook and Twitter will be unavailable for people to use.
I think that the SOPA act will be a major influence in our lives. Many of us turn to the internet as a guide to help us answer questions that ay seem to be unanswerable. This act will take away certain web sites that student may need to do there homework such as research papers. Also this act can ban social networks causing the communication from person to person to slowly diminish. In the world we need to be aware of what we search for in the world instead of banishing the resources that may be helpful to others.
I believe SOPA and PIPA are basically going to change the way we use the internet. If everything is banned then how are school assignments going to be accomplished. Also we use the internet for social purposes, such as listening to music and web chatting with others. If all of this is gone then we are going to be extremely bored. Also people wouldn't use the internet as much, therefore people might not buy computers anymore or have any interests in using the WORLD WIDE WEB. In reality the internet should not be banned becuase it can harm us socially as well as economically.
I believe SOPA and PIPA are going to ruin absolutely everything. I personally dislike both of them due to the fact that it'll ruin my recreation time and education. I am a Facebook & Tumblr junkie and if these acts are passed I will no longer be able to explore the internet like I use to. With education, a lot of things will be effected. Like this blog for instance. We use it for class but if these two acts are passed this blog will no longer exist. I feel like these acts should just disappear altogether because it'll be messing with our first amendment and I feel as if it's unfair.
SOPA and PIPA need to get away because the whole point of our freedom of the press and speech will be revoked. SOPA and PIPA will devestate our economy, our people, and our education. Technology has become very useful - especially the internet and to ban the use of the internet because of "copyright" issues is too un-reasonable. The government will also be affected by this and it seems as if they are not truly understanding how resourceful the internet is for peopel and to take away that freedom is just unfair.
SOPA and PIPA would ruin our sense of freedom on the internet and, as Chris stated, ruin oureconomy, people, and education. These two acts would ban numerous useful and crucial internet websites that assist in entertainment and education. if these two acts go into effect, the majority of the web would be gone. Congress should get rid of these two acts and actually think of a more effect way to rid the internet of websites accused of infringement and copyright. To try and just delete all websites with copyright issues would be unfair and unconstitutional.
SOPA and PIPA are annoying. A lot of sites depend on what is posted and if these are passed, aaaaall those sites will have no choice but to shut down. It IS in violation of our freedoms as citizens. What's the point of internet anymore if SOPA and PIPA are active? Well, not really. We could still use the internet for other purposes, but it would be very boring. We need the internet for our education and most especially for business. We all run on it. SOPA and PIPA are just making our lives difficult and need to stop.
The SOPA and PIPA acts are just another way for the government to limit people's freedom. It can make people's lives much more difficult as they have to search harder to find what they need. The internet is full of all the many diverse things that people need in their everyday lives. Transportation is not always easy and so having to travel in order to find the information you once could find on the internet is extremely stressful. I learn a lot of random and interesting things from my time searching the web. With this act, I won't be able to learn all these things nor be free to do what I want on Facebook and other social media sites. The internet as we know it will never be the same.
SOPA and PIPA are right to want to stop piracy but having the ability to shut down any website they want is unfair. In today's society technology revolves around our lives, many of us use the computer for most of the hours in the day. We use it to get in touch with friends and family and also for our homework and research in general. Censoring certain websites is a violation of our freedom of speech. This will also affect many people because they'll lose their jobs. The internet is an unlimited resource and to take this away from people who truly take advantage of it would be unfair.
It's understandable to want to diminish the issue of piracy, but the overall effects of SOPA and PIPA are unimaginable. In the day and age where most people Google for information, the result of the passage of these bills can be catastrophic. Proper "censoring" with these bills would basically mean censoring the entire internet and there basically wouldn't be a need for the world wide web at all.
I don't think that the SOPA and PIPA bills are fair. These bills are taking unneccessary measures to take down a website. Certain websites that I may need for school can be eliminated due to these bills. Even websites such as Facebook and Tumblr will be eliminated due to the copyrighted content that is on it.
